What we know right now is parkview and anthem of indiana are still hashing out details of a potential agreement, but each side has agreed to a two day extension, meaning the contract will now expire on thursday july 30th at 11:59pm?

?if a de reached between the hospital group and insurance provider by then, it means all parkview doctors, caregivers, and services become out of network, and anthem-insured patients will have to pay higher prices for using parkview anthem says anthem-insured parkview patients are doing that already.

In a statement from anthem this afternoon, senior director of communications tony felhis contract negotiation is about making healthcare more affordable for anth consumers in northeast indiana.

According to federal data, indiana residents spend 4.4% more of their annual income on healthcare than the average american.

That is why anthem approached parkview officials 10 months ago to begin conversations about a new contract that provides greater affordability.

Negotiation and the two day extension, parkview health president and ceo mike packnett said in a statement we received just an hour ago that e made progress, bu both sides felt it was important to take more time to try to work through our differences rather than allowing the contract to end tonight at midnight.

Negotiations do fall apart, this would impact anyone with anthem insurance, including commercial, medicaid, medicare, advantage, or healthy indiana plan.

And this impacts all parkview providers and facilities in indiana, but those providers based in ohio will not be impacted and will remain in-network for anthem.

Both parkview and anthem said they will continue to work with one another to come to an agreement over the next couple of day.
