"* the minnesota department of education says it will release its guidelines for the upcoming school year.

That's july 30th./// meanwhile ?

"* the rochester public school district is already getting ready... revealing plans for three possible scenarios.

Kimt news 3's isabella basco joins us live now to "school" us on what comes next ?

"* isabella?

Xxx well... the superintenden t admits this could be the most complex plan ever attempted in the district.

After the 3 scenarios were laid out for the upcoming school year ?

"* i spoke to parents to find out what they prefer during the pandemic.

Xxx <nats > "i would love to see at least a hybrid if not going back to school full time because they do need that social interaction.

I understand at the same time we do need to be safe so it is a hard place to tread."

Rps parent jennifer lawver wants her kids back in school ?

"* for at least part of the week.

Luckily ?

"* that's one of the options superintenden t michael munoz is presenting for the incoming school year.

Here's a breakdown of the three scenarios: the first is in?

"* person learning for all students.

"the only difference is we are going to create as much space between teachers and students as feasible during the day."

Second is hybrid learning with strict social distancing and a limit on capacity.

"with this model we cannot have over 50 percent of that particular building including both the student and staff in the building."

Third is sticking to distance learning only.

"as we progress through the pandemic, it could be a particular school maybe told that they may go to distance learning while the rest of the school may be on a different model."

If some form of in?

"*person learning happen, all individuals must wear a mask, including on playgrounds!

The district and each building will also have a designated covid?

"*19 prorgram coordinator and require additional hand?

"*washing time for students.

There will also be student lessons on hygeine and proper mask wearing.

Despite the risks of coronavirus... the district will follow the guidance of the minnesota departments of health and education and implement their recommendatio ns.
