Debate over reopening schools continues

Parents have mixed reactions when it comes to reopening schools this Fall.

Some say it's time for kids to go back to the classroom but others are worried about the potential impacts.

Should we sent our kids back to campus?

One local doctor tells me even though kids might not get too sick if they become infected they could still pass the virus to their parents or teachers.

So if kids do go back to school it important they follow the guidelines to minimize the risk.

Dr. roy shannon/ that question i don think anyone knows the right answer.

Dr. roy shannon, head of infection control at oroville hospital says if schools do reope* they need to take safety guidelines seriously.

Dr. roy shannon: we do know kids need to get back to school to have socialization but on the other hand we have to balance the risk of spreading infection.

They need to be at least 6 feet apart, kids are going to need masks, and that going to be tough it enough getting adults to wear them with a state mandate.

Kristian stand up: he also says it important for schools to make sure kids are washing their hands, there extra cleaning of classrooms, bathrooms and playground equipment.

Most agree -- whatever comes next - will be full of challenges.
