Kimt news three's maleeha kamal listened in to "barbershop talk" and has the story.xxx look live: i'm here at the space known as the barbershop.i got the chance to talk to three candidates running for office about their platforms and key issues plaguing the community, "the world has cried for change.

It is key that we bring about the change that has been demanded for."

For the past two years he's been hosting a series of shows to discuss topics that impact the african american community.

In the hot seat today were these three ladies.

They talked about their platforms and topics such as systematic racism and police reform.

Hick says when it comes to systematic racism she plans on startin in the area she knows best.

"i think we have to address systematic racism starting in education we need to address the disparities occuring in education we need to do that with real true data not only around academic and opportunity disparities but also in discipline disparities and then we need to hold our schools statewide accountable for those disparities to start moving the needle forward."

Liz boldon says when it comes to police reform, there are a number of actionable items that can be done to make a difference.

"eliminating choke holds, looking at the use of force policy, making sure that deadly force is used only in situations where it is absolutely necessary and all other options have been exhausted.

Ensuring that at least a percentage of officers who serve in the community live in that community."

Flick spoke on breaking down the barriers of redlining in rochester.

"we have decades and decades of redlining but i'll be the first to admit that i don't have all the answers.

So i'm going to have to admit that i'm going to have to rely on my partners here at the city level and the county level but my job is to make sure as a state legislature is to make sure that they get the funding that they need to do that work."
