A man in south India discovered a rare albino cobra slithering in his home and contacted a local snake catcher to rescue it.

Puthur in Coimbatore, Kerala, called snake catcher Santhosh, who found the nearly four-foot-long pale reptile hiding in a nearby bush.

Forest officials was informed about the white snake and with the help of the officials the snake was released in the Marudhamalai forest area.

Officials commented that there are no natural species of white cobra, and this snake may have gained its unusual colour from a genetic defect.
