This afternoon..

They marched in downtown lexington to show their support for the black lives matter movement.

The protest wasn't long.

It only lasted about 30 minutes..

But the message was powerful.

Black lives matter.

Dozens of players and few coaches..

Including stoops..

Vince marrow and former cat courtney love walked to the county courthouse wearing black lives matter shirts.

Joining them was mayor linda gorton..

Police chief lawrence weathers..

And sheriff kathy witt.

Coach stoops says he doesn't typical share his personal beliefs issues..

But says this one is definitely not one of them.

He also hopes today's protest will help some of his players heal mentally and emotionally.

And that he wanted to speak out as well.

He says today doesn't solve anything..

But it's a challenge to continue to talk about this issue..
