Utica Zoo holding virtual fundraiser

The Utica Zoo will hold a virtual wine fundraiser this weekend in place of its typical Wine in the Wilderness event.

It's second largest fundraiser-- the utica zoo decided to proceed with wine in the wilderness.... as wine in the virtual instead.

It's happening on saturday at six pm.

But you have to sign up by tomorrow morning.

The goal is to continue the excitement and enjoyment of the last 20 years.....with music, trivia, and wine of course.

At-home party boxes start at 20 dollars with all the proceeds benefiting the more than 200 animals that call utica home.

Mark simon 37:47 on average, we spent 5,000 dollars a day to operate the zoo.

Since march 15th when we closed, the revenue has stopped but those expenses still come because we have to feed the animals and take care of them to the absolute best of our abilities.

The bills keep coming but the revenueasntbeen s very very very important 38:08 wine in the wilderness typically brought two thousand people to the zoo....and raised 80 thousand dollars.
