New Hartford has candlelight vigil for George Floyd

This time in new hartford.

Around 150 people gathered at the new hartford village green for a candlelight vigil to protest the death of george floyd.

Since his death protests have erupted across the nation...some turning violent.

That hasn't been the case locally though as peaceful protests are popping up around the community.

At tonight's new hartford rally the crowds lit candles and held a moment of silence for floyd and other victims of police brutality.

Utica councilman delvin moody was there and he spoke to the crowd.

"whether you're in utica or new hartford, people care about having police accountabilty, and transparency.

Really just trying to figure out how we cxan have a civil conversation on how to make our policeforcese new hartford police departmentwe there were no problems. the rally ended with the crowd chanting black lives matter before everyone left for the evening.
