Up covid-19 related bills this week.

News channel two's gary liberatore spoke with assemblywoman marianne buttenschon about what to expect.

Even though it's the holiday weekend...state legislators are at work...preparing to try to pass covid related legislation as soon as this week.

Assemblywoman marianne buttenschon says although the legislature is still meeting virtually, rather than in person...that doesn't mean work isn't getting done... tc : 07:29 "there is anywhere from a couple of dozen to close to 40 or 50 bills...."

I think the more important again as a small business support that we would like to provide.

We know the federal government has done it but it's not enough for so many."

Buttenschon says some of the other high priority covid bills aim to help bars and restauants....in fact she has written a letter to the state liquor authority to expedite two bills...to reimburse them for liquor license fees they paid for and havent been open... tc : 01:06 "as well as the importance of them having the ability to expand to possibly outside areas and ensure the flexibility that they can create their plans for social distancing."

As we approach friday, may 29th, the expected beginning of phase two for many regions in new york state including the mohawk valley region...a big thing on everyones mind besides going in and sitting at restaurants are barbershops and salons... tc : 04:03 "and what do you see life like friday in barbershops let's say& i think they've already been taking as many of them told me, they're taking appointments, they're ready, they are prepared."

Another bill involve sallowing salons and barbershops to open on sundays to help them recoup some of the losses the past two-plus months.

Sticking with salons...buttenscho n was alarmed to hear about the story of a salon in missouri where a stylist came to work with symptoms, ultimately tested postive for covid...and possiblky has pased it along to dozens of others... she says she hopes
