>> there's a lot of excitement surrounding next year's pga championship.

Whether you play as a hobby or have professional aspirations, this sport draws throngs of crowds from all over the world just it see the best of the best compete.

Joining us now, someone who has walked in those cleats.

He has been with the jeep pro golf tour from north carolina, and he's joining us from his spartanburg center.

And thank you for joining us.

>> thanks for having me.

>> it looks like a beautiful day to be out on the links.

>> it's a beautiful day, 65?, and i'd love to be on the course right now.

>> i appreciate you taking yourself away for just a moment to talk to us, and i want to hear more about growing up and when you started place golf.

>> yeah, so basically, when i started walking my dad got me a golf club, and ever since then, i've been traveling and playing professional golf since i was 23, and it has been a great journey for me.

>> so when you were 4 years old, that golf club had to be very small.

>> he had to cut it down to the right size for me.

And as i grew out of it, he got me larger clubs, and it was cool.

>> so your father is a golfer as well and he took that passion and imparted it on to you, and what did it feel like when you went out on the golf course the very first time, and you hit balls into the holes and got a feel for the game?

>> yes, my dad got me started when i was young, and as soon as i started beating him, since i was 15, ever since then, he has not been able to beat me.

>> really?

And i want to hear about your professional experience as well.

So once you turned 23, you were out there in tournaments all over the place, and can you give us examples of the different tours you took?

>> yes.

When i graduated from college, i won my last event, and as soon as i won that, i turned professional and i just went on the journey of playing the jeep golf tour, and the carolina mountain tour.

So i played that in 2018, and since then, i have been drive around with a bunch of qualifiers.

>> so what does that mean with a pro golfer, a professional athlete who is at that level?

When we're talking pga, pga is coming in next year, and they're going to be playing in the ocean course which you've played yourself.

And also, i want to understand how difficult that course is from someone who has played t.

>> yes, i had a good experience playing that.

I played that in college, and it's a really difficult golf ball.

Golf difficult golf course, and it all depends on the wind.

And it's going to.

>> it's beautiful but a challenge and what is the physical and the mental strength that you need come out the victor in.

>> you need to have 6, 8 hours a day, and the mental factor too.

We always say it's about 80% mental.

>> so we heard that the pga championship taking place in san francisco in august, and they are still considering a plan that they're not going to have any spectators.

So you as a player, do you prefer the one-on-one with the course or do you like having that spectator nudge there, and does that help you at all in your game.

>> so i love to have the audience there.

It makes me play better, and one-on-one with the golf course, as long as we get to play, that's all that matters to me.

>> that's awesome.

And again, you're in spartanburg?

>> yes, can you find me on the internet.

>> what's your handicap?

>> i'm a plus 4.

>> wow, and we appreciate you taking the time to talk to us.

>> to us.

I might need some lessons.

Good luck out there, and thank you again, brad.
