>> we interrupt your regularly scheduled quarantine for seasonal depression.

Your 24-hour news cycle and your social media, with the critical message of love.

We came together to do this song because we're strong together.

[ music ] >> the world will feel like a different place when we emerge from this pandemic, and one of the reasons why is because of how our world was brought together while we were apart.

Special and talented folks in our communities.

And welcomed like to welcome jonathan, a recording artist out of los angeles, who created an inspiring video everyone should watch.

Thank you for joining us and it's good to see you.

>> thank you so much, lately a.

It's an absolute pleasure and porn to be with you this morning.

>> tell us about this video, what was your inspiration?

>> i was just aware about all of the different things going o.

Especially with the daunting impact of covid.

A lot of people have been affected in different ways, whether personally, professionally, health wise, and i felt going about my daily life, there was a dif disposition for people walking around.

I felt like i need dad something for t and i came up with let love n.

A series of different videos inspired by love, and that's how i came one that.

>> we can't have enough love during this time.

So tell us about yourself.

You're a recording artist, and what do you perform usually?

>> i'm a recording artist.

And i perform all types of music, but generally, it's a fusion of a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and it's all grounded in love.

My artist tree is compelled by love, and i use my platform to bring people together.

While we're on the earth and mak as much of an impact as possible.

>> is it all music or do you express your artist tree in different ways?

>> i actually moved to new york when i was 19, and i started very quickly after i moved there, always when i was a kid, and actually, i've done a few broadway tours, and i've done things like that.

>> anything we've heard of?

>> yes, -- smoky joe's cafe and a few others.

>> oh, my god, yes.

Oh, that's great.

And you're also an actor, and now your mission is to spread love around the world.

And let's go back to this video.

First of all, who does it star?

>> you know what?

That's a great question.

I think it stars everyone, right?

So i think that was the point of when i did this video, i realized that to make a great impact, you have to galvanize and give as many people an opportunity to be their best selves, and i think a lot of people during this time, they wonder what they can be to make an machine because the problems seem so big and wide and daunting that they think as an individual they can't do much.

So me, when i created a project.

I wanted to bring as many people into the fold, diversity was a big part.

And i wanted to bring people of all creeds and colors to show that with a little bit of action, a little bit of hope and a little bit of love, we can make a great impact many.

>> and occupation as well.

>> yeah, absolutely.

>> tell us more about some of the occupations of some of these participants.

>> absolutely, so we have everything from sings to raps to healthcare workers, and if you watch the videos, we have several numbers in the video who i'm super honored and proud to have in the project.

Several of them are traveling, so they spent this specific moment in time to travel to hospitals affect bid corona, and it was important for us to have those people included in the fold in terms of expressing the different ways that people have been impacted and how they're turning that into love.

>> let me ask you this: do you know anyone personally who has been impact bid covid-19?

>> yes, absolutely, i've had several members of my own family who were affected by covid-19.

>> how are they doing?

>> they're finally.

Luckily, they have both recovered.

And one of them was hospitalized on several occasions due to it, but luckily, she's out and she's healthy and she's back and running, and so yeah.

>> that's wonderful.

And we're happy to hear that everyone is fine, and what's next for you?

What's coming up, and what's in your future?

>> in 2020, i had a plan, right?

My 2020 plan was to release an album and go on tour, and obviously, when covid-19 happened, all of my tour dates were canceled.

And so i had to pivot and be pretty for the home.

And this situation that we're currently in has really inspired me to release a series of a set of videos that will be coming out over the course of the next two months.

Six videos, and each is going to have it's own special niche of love and hope.

And i'm working on the next song right now, it's called break through, the hook is sometimes you have to break down to break through, and it felt like they're going through some sort of depression, and we just want to reach out to those people as well on this next project.

>> definitely.

And just a couple of seconds left here, and can you tells how to help your stuff go viral?

How do we share it?

>> go on and type in my name, and follow me on instagram, and if you see this video and you're impacted by it, make sure that you reach out to me.

The videos will be coming out over the course of the next week.

And if you want to share your family and home, be part of it.

>> we want to share south carolina here, and jonathan, thank you so much.

Stay safe and healthy out there in l.a., okay?

>> thank you, and thank you so much, guys.

>> we're back
