But with the pandemic still ongoing - one southern minnesota county has made the decision to cancel theirs.

Because the fair is slated for the first part of august - the fair will also not be held this year.
Tickets - season passes - and passports - both bought in person and online - will be refunded.
County administrator tom jensen says the decision was not made lightly - and it came after looking at many options.xxx fairgrounds-live sot-1 "it doesn't make sense to have that many people from all corners of the earth gathering together when there's very little sanitation, there's no hand washing, there's nothing.
And social distancing is impossible."

According to a post on their facebook page from this afternoon - their fair is still scheduled for august 11 through the 16th in austin.
The fair board there will continue to monitor the situation.

The freeborn county fair board is planning for next year's fair - and are in the process of attempting to re-book entertainers scheduled for this year for 20-21.
