Week in sports with some happy news.

Over the past couple of weeks lots of announcements have been made regarding seniors committing to continue their careers in college.

A few local high school football players are staying right here in the area - and i want to highlight just a few right now.

Proctor's saleh eltayeb is heading to college hill in clinton to play for hamilton college.

Eltayeb helped proctor to its best season in program history - an undefeated regular season - a 9-2 overall record and the program's first trip to a section final and at large bid into the regional round of the state tournament.

Eltayeb had 32 catches this year for six touchdowns.

An offensive tackle and defensive end - gohringer had 25 tackles - five sacks and 10 tackles for a loss this season.

Williams a tight end and defensive end - had 48 tackles - 10 sacks and 15 tackles for a loss.

Joining those two at utica college - branden gokey of central valley academy.

A running back and defensive lineman - gokey spent three years on varsity for the thunder.

He helped them to a 5-3 overall record this season.
