Are you looking to get married anytime soon?

You won't be able to at many local venues during the coronavirus pandemic.

New this morning - are you looking to get married anytime soon?

You won't be able to at many local venues during the coronavirus pandemic.

Action news now reporter jafet serrato is live at the clerk recorder's office in oroville - he spoke to local wedding planners about what they're doing during all of this.

Here at the recorders office they are still issuing marriage licenses and holding ceremonies on a case by case basis - and only for people living in butte county.

If you want the big wedding where people throw rice in the air - you're going to have to wait.

(nats: wedding music) it's one of the most important days in people's lives - their wedding.

"weddings are a thing of love of the heart, its emotion."

This is donna white and she's in the love business.

But now that business is on hold.

"my heart bleeds for the brides and grooms because there's so much planning that goes into a wedding and they get so excited" people come from all over to get married at her ranch in north chico.

But now - white is busy rescheduling all her guests.

(nats: camera shots) white holds about 25 weddings a year (standup:) when they have events here they're able to host at least 150 people.

This wedding season the venue is virtually empty.

White so far tells me there have been no cancellations.

White says she's losing money - but hopes to re- open soon.

"when they open up we'll have every single weekend with a wedding" (nats: giant wind chime) the wind chime wedding chapel in chico is for smaller celebrations but is seeing the same thing.

"people basically are calling to reschedule.

They seem to understand whats going on" (nats: creek water) "if someone doesn't want to go to vegas or maybe the county clerk, we have a beautiful outdoor venue thats a nice alternative" as for white - she says even when things start to open again - people may not be ready to tie the knot.

"they want to go to next year because they said i dont want to have a wedding where people cant dance.

I dont want to have a wedding where people are afraid."

But white says when everything is back up and running she may still make her employees will wear gloves and masks.

White says she usually holds weddings in spring and summer - but if the stay at home order goes longer than may - she's open to holding weddings during winter.

In oroville jafet serrato action news now coverage you can count on!

White says she's usually booked every year - she even has to turn down at least 50 people who are interested.### shasta
