LIVE SHOT IN UTICA FOLLOWING AN OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING.

Scene tonight of an officer involved shooting in west utica.

This incident happened just before 6 o'clock.

As you can see behind me, there is still an active crime scene on brayton park place.

Upd confirmed that an officer was shot at, but was not struck.

Heres what we know... utica police tell us around 5:40 this evening... a upd officer was patrolling the area around whitesboro streer and brayton park place when he was alerted that a male was walking down the street possibly armed with a hand gun.

When the officer approached him, the suspect began shooting at the officer.

/our police vehicle was struck we do know a business on whitesboro street was struck...... the officer was able to take cover behind the door he was able to return fire suspect fled southbound on brayton park place westbound through the yards officer began to chase and lost sight of him/ sabatinos pizza and deli was the business that was struck.

After the suspect fled, police tracked him to an abandoned house on churchill ave... just a block away from the origional crime scene.

The swat team was sent in to search the house.

Police say no suspect was located.
