Father shares his story after losing his son to COVID-19

Tonight one father shares his heartbreaking story.

News 10's richard solomon has the message he wants to share.

Larry hutchinson sr lost his son larry hutchinson jr. last week.

He died from covid-19.

Hutchinson sr. also has another son in the hospital because of the disease.

Hutchinson sr. hung up the phone with his son calvin...moments before i called him.

He says his son wasn't able to talk that much but he did say one word...hello.

Hutchinson says that's all he needed to hear to let him know his boy is going to be ok.

He told me calvin is battling the virus in a hospital in bloomington.

He did share great news with me however.

Hutchinson says calvin was taken out of i-c-u today.

He says his family is going through one of the most un-imaginable situation.

But hutchinson says this isn't the time to give up.

'when he said that my heart was filled up i was overjoyed we're praying for people all over, all over the world that's effected man so if we can pray for one another that's more important than anything" hutchinson says he's not sure how much longer his son will be in the hospital.

Hutchinson says he thanks everyone for the endless support and prayers.
