>> back after this.

>> poor baby, and how did you find her?

>> she came in as a stray.

So they end upper getting away from their owners, and they love to follow their noses, so that tends to be strays off the streets.

>> i see, and she's eight years old and she's eight years old?

>> how much does she weigh?

>> about 8 pounds.

>> does she need a special diet.

>> we'll send her home with ma we have been feeding her, and the thing is she can't exercise because of the limitations on her leg that had the surgery, so she would much prefer to run around in a yard, but right now, we're limiting her exercise and that's as well affecting her weight.

>> hound dogs, you say they follow their noses and are they particularly active anyway?

Or are they a couch potato type of dog?

>> she can definitely be couch potato, but when she gets in a yard, she follows her nose.

When she came to my office, the first thing she wanted to do is see what was going on, and who had been here, so yes.

Hounds are very tough on recoil.

So i highly recommend always having them leash.

So where it goes much.

>> that's a good point, and you are skyping from your office, usually you come into the studio.

With you, and even at this distance, tell us a little bit about what's going on at the charleston animal society and how things have changed in recent times.

>> definitely, i normally outside of my office, i have to wear a mask, and all of us are wearing masks and over a month, we have been following the guidelines for socialing and we're only making appointments for 30 minimum intervals, so there's only one person in the shelter at a time looking for dogs or cats, and that's a big thing we have done.

One of the things we're doing, we have gone to a five-day week, so we're only hoping monday through friday now, and not saturday and sunday anymore.

That's a change.

We see it every day, where people are having to reduce staff, the shelter we're working on, including washing the dog.

>> this time is great to do those prompts, right?

It's a good time to do t and are you taking in as many dogs now as you were before, and cats as well?

>> we're not taking in as many.

People have been really good about finding the owners for strays, but what we're taking are our emergency cases and those are injured animals that are really in desperate need of care, and that has kind of heightened our area, like this girl.

>> and speaking of needs, does the charleston animal society need anything from us?

>> absolutely.

Right now, we need your help.

We have just launched a pets for life campaign that allows us to keep animals in people's homes, and that's a lot more people now that need your food banks and care for their pets, so pets for life, you can help us keep families together by donating right now.

Go to charleston animal society.org.

>> thank you so much.

And we're going to have ladybug's information on the platform, so thank you so much for skyping with us, stay safe and healthy.

>> tank you, and i can't
