:00-:05 :16 micah: take a stroll down lindberg road in west lafayette, that's where you'll find this tree with a message of hope.

Yating: the sign says, "life will find a way."

Micah: yating haller lives in the neighborhood and like many she's been locked in the house for some time.

Yating: we were kind of bored at home and i wanted to show my kids that even when we're at home, we're not going out, we can still do something and not just something for us but something for the community.

Micah: haller and her family have decorated this tree using materials around the house.

She made easter egg ornaments from the plastic eggs she saved from last easter.

And she has also re- purposed this wooden board to write her message of hope.

Yating: the walkers and joggers, i hope that as they continue to engage in daily exercise, in a social distance, to be reminded that they're not really alone, we're all in this together.

Micah: haller put these decoration up at the beginning up of april and doesn't plan to take it down anytime soon.

Yating: my vision is that the whole tree would be covered in ribbon, and people would keep on adding to it.

Micah so far, it's seeing some love from those passing by.

Natsound: it's kind of fun to see people participate.

Yating: the easter egg signifies the rebirth and renewal of life and hopefully when this all blows over, people will even though there seems like there's no hope, but there will be hope.
