Chico woman making cleaning supply kits for the homeless

One Northern California woman is sending out a social media call to help an at risk group during the coronavirus pandemic.

Addison bedford is asking for toiletries - to give to the homeless to get them through this.

(nats: ziploc opening) (nats: hand touching bag) addison bedford is hard at work making supply kits for the homeless.

"these kits are going to have a tooth brush, tooth paste, a bar of soap and a bandana" she got the idea from her aunt in illinois "she reached out to me and said, hey im doing this project here with my neighborhood you should help us with social media."

And she did "they can't quarantine so that's really going to be where coronavirus can strike the easiest."

(nats: item going in bag) (standup:) while bedford is hard at work making these bags she also includes these fliers with information on how to protect yourself during the pandemic.

If we take a closer look it shows you how you should wash your hands frequently and how the virus is spread.

"you need to think these people need to use facilities as well.

That same public bathroom or that same store they went there as well.

If they have the virus you're going to get it too."

She's doing all this while still a student at chico state.

"keeping up with class work and switching to online is a little rough" but she's pushing through and determined to help.

"we want to make as many as we can" bedford says everyone putting these bags together is wearing gloves and a mask to prevent contamination bedford plans to give out the kits to torres shelter this week.
