WAAY 31's Will Robinson-Smith shares information about the new order issued by the Governor.

Us live with what you need to know about it.

The stay at home order goes into effect saturday evening at 5 p.m., like the last one.

While, this new order mandates that everyone needs to stay at home, there are a number of exceptions.

For most people, execptions to this rule include things like obtaining necessary supplies, like food and medicine, obtaining necessary services, like car repairs and veteranary care for your pets.

Religious servies, like a worship service, wedding or funeral are also exempt.

The order states that any event must involve fewer than 10 people and everyone needs to maintain a consistent six-foot separation.

During today's annoucement, governor kay ivey admitted that the actions taken so far were not strong enough to slow the spread effectively.

Our previous efforts to limit social interaction and reduce the chances of spreading this virus have not been enough.

And that's why we're taking this more drastic step.

The health order also allows for those essential workers to continue going to their jobs.

People are also able to do outdoor activities that involve fewer than 10 people.

For more detail on the exemptions listed in the health order, we have the full health order up on our website, waaytv.com.
