This first started in the town of ilion, but the inspiration was spread to utica.

We spoke to one of these neighbors, who told us what these blue ribbons mean... "we started putting up blue ribbons on the telephone poles to acknowledge everybody that's working in the hospitals and the medical care.

We really appreciate them.

Just something little so when they're driving by or other people see it, they see that we care and we appreciate them.

We know that they're risking a lot really trying to help the community."
