Number of coronavirus cases rose overnight.

There are now 970 cases and 20 deaths with two of those deaths are in our viewing area.

Montgomery and panola counties.

Misisssippi and alabama released the latest number of coronavirus cases.

And here's a look at the local numbers as we've reported on monday tishomingo and panola counties each had a case which is now reflected by the state tippah county now with 26 cases with lee with 24 okitbbeha county now with 17 lafayette with 15 chickasaw county with 13 cases lowndes has 11 cases locally in alabama, there are 9 cases in the hamilton area which is marion county, plus franklin county still holding steady with 3 cases statewide, we are up to 937 cases with deaths when you look at the state map -- the top population centers with the most cases.

Hinds county -- that's where jackson is located -- has the highest number of cases in the state with 90 desoto county -- northwest mississippi right outside of memphis -- is right behind with 84 45 cases can be found in harrison county on the mississippi gulf coast, which is where gulfport and biloxi are located.

Mississippi reported two additional deaths related to the coronavirus.

The deaths were in montgomery and panola counties.

The state has not released any details about the two victims. the previous deaths were patients from amite, bolivar, desoto, hancock, harrison, holmes, lafayette, lee, leflore, perry, rankin, sunflower, tunica, webster and wilkinson counties.
