Billy Porter to Play Genderless Fairy Godparent in New 'Cinderella' Porter is slated to play a genderless fairy godparent named "Fab G" in a new 'Cinderella' musical, set to release in 2021.
The Emmy, Grammy and Tony award-winning actor told CBS News, "magic has no gender." Porter made history in 2019 as the first openly gay black man to win an Emmy in the lead actor category for his role as Pray Tell in FX’s 'Pose.'
He has also cemented his role as an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in media.
Porter told CBS News that playing the role of Fab G was powerful to him.
