101 Call-Handling Data To Be Published From Today

New data shows members of the public are waiting an average of 13 seconds to reach West Yorkshire Police’s control room to report non-emergency incidents.  

The 101 number is for non-emergency calls such as reporting situations which don’t require an urgent 999 response or passing information about an ongoing investigation.  

From today, all police forces will publish their 101 call wait times, improving transparency and helping communities to understand how their local force is performing.
