Police investigating a report of rape in Camborne have issued an appeal for information.

The incident happened between 11.45pm on Saturday 16 May and 1am on Sunday 17 May in the grounds of Camborne Conservative Club in Tehidy Road.

The victim, a female aged in her late teens, is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Detectives would like to hear from any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of Camborne Conservative Club or using Tehidy Road at the time of the incident.

An 18-year-old man from Redruth and a 24-year-old man from Helston have been arrested on suspicion of rape. Both men have been released on police bail until 11 June and 15 June respectively.

Detective Inspector Glenn Willcocks said: “This is a rare and isolated incident. I would like to reassure the public that police are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”

Enquiries are ongoing.
