The total number of active drilling rigs for oil and gas in the United States fell this week, according to new data that Baker Hughes published on Friday as operators continue to scale back. The total rig count in the US fell by 2 rigs for the second week in a row, landing at 540, according to Baker Hughes, down 46 from this same time last year.
