Hyderabad AC technician held for pirating 40 Tollywood films; leaked from theatres, industry loss Rs 3,700 crore & paid in crypto

In Hyderabad, police apprehended Jana Kiran Kumar, an AC technician. He is accused of pirating 40 Telugu films. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce filed a complaint. They estimated a loss of Rs 3,700 crore due to piracy. Kiran recorded movies in theaters using a hidden phone. He shared the videos for cryptocurrency. He then converted it to Indian rupees.
