SC directs Karnataka to release Rs 3,400 crore worth of transferable development rights certificates to Wadiyars

The Supreme Court has instructed the Karnataka government to issue transferable development rights (TDR) certificates worth Rs 3,400 crore to the heirs of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar and others. This order compensates for the acquisition of 15 acres of Bangalore Palace Grounds two decades ago for road widening. The court dismissed the state's arguments and pending appeals.
