SC recalls order allowing MTP of 31-week pregnancy

In a rare occurrence, the Supreme Court recalled its order from April 22 on Monday. The order was passed using its broad powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to ensure complete justice, permitting the termination of a 14-year-old girl's 31-week pregnancy due to an alleged sexual assault. A bench led by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud instructed the dean of Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital and Medical College.
