It comes after ex-Labour MP Zarah Sultana said she was quitting the party to co-lead a new party with Corbyn.
Zarah Sultana is a British politician who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Coventry South since 2019. She was a Labour Party MP until the whip was suspended in July 2024, when she became one of seven Labour MPs who voted to scrap the two-child benefit cap. She resigned her Labour Party membership on 3 July 2025, seeking to form a new left-wing political party with former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. On the political left, she is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group and was its chairperson from 2020 to 2025.
