A powerful 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck Colombia’s capital Bogota on Sunday, June 8, 2025, causing widespread panic as buildings trembled and residents ran for safety.
Originating at a depth of 10 km, the quake hit 170 km from Bogota at 9:08 am local time.
The tremors coincided with a national tragedy as presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay was shot at a campaign event the same day.
