My name is Kris Hunter.

I'm 54 years old, a father of three, married twice, and currently single.

For the first eleven years of my life, I lived in San Jose, Silicon Valley.

My father and grandfather, my mother's dad, both worked at IBM.

My grandfather helped design the magnetic head that would read the reel-to-reel tapes and hard drives, while my father helped develop the process of creating aluminum hard drives and the magnetic coating polishing process.

As a child, I witnessed the introduction of the first ATM machines at Alpha Beta, which used punch cards, and I worked in a grocery store when the first laser scanners were installed.

My dad would share details about his work at IBM, such as the special coating on stealth fighters, which he explained was like the ceramic coating on a coffee cup that absorbs microwaves instead of reflecting them back to the transmitter.
