Now what does this mean?

Well, as with Albert Einstein, it means that space is relative.

Unlike Newtonian physicists, Einstein did not conceive of space as an absolute entity in relation to which things were organized.

Quite the contrary, he defines space as the relationship that exists among things as a result of their organization.
