Eurovision winners and the state of the nation

What do Matt Monroe, Sandie Shaw, Cliff Richard, Lulu, Olivia Newton-John, The Shadows, Brotherhood of Man and Bucks Fizz have in common? No – they didn’t try to feed the world. I bet Bucks Fizz gave it away. It wasn’t that they all lacked taste – although try ripping off skirts these days. No – they’ve all sung their hearts out at Eurovision.
