A Sunday drive in Winter Haven, Polk County, Florida, ended in twisted chrome and heartbreak when a 1968 Pontiac GTO left Havendale Boulevard and slammed into a utility pole. The driver—reportedly in his late 40s or early 50s—was seriously injured but survived. No one else was hurt. For that, the city breathes a sigh of relief.
