Seattle Pacific University Students Protest Ban on LGBTQ+ Staff

During the graduation ceremony at Seattle Pacific University on June 12, students protested their school’s ban on LGBTQ+ staff and professors by handing the school’s president a Pride flag as they received their diplomas.

Seattle Pacific is a private Christian university in Washington.

The board of directors upheld the school’s ban in May, saying in a statement that employees must ‘reflect a traditional view on Biblical marriage and sexuality.’ Chloe Guillot, one of the student organizers, told NowThis that the students have also been staging a sit-in outside the president’s office for the past 20 days & counting.
