UK should be suspicious but give Taliban 'a chance'

General Sir Nick Carter, the Head of the British Armed Forces, believes the UK should remain suspicious of the Taliban but it would be silly to not "give them a chance".

He argues the Taliban do not want to be a "pariah state" as they were in the 90s.

Carter reckons that the UK and their allies didn't realise how "fragile" the Afghan Army was and that there were lessons to be learned.
