23-year-old Poonam Sharma from Gangasaran in Rampur was contesting from ward number 135 of Milak block.
Preparations of her wedding were going on when she received information that she has won the Block Development Council election.
That was when she decided to take a break from the nuptial, reached the counting venue at Naveen Mandi and collected her certificate of victory.
She returned right after to get married.
