Jabalpur police issued challans to people for not following COVID protocol as they gathered to offer prayers on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
Police officials instructed people to stay at home.
"We told them to offer prayers at home," said police official.
Devotees were a bit annoyed as they claimed that they followed all COVID precautions.
"It's our annual festival, we are wearing masks and gloves but still they have issued challans." Amid surge in COVID-19 infections, lockdown restrictions were implemented in Madhya Pradesh.
