Amid a rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on April 21 informed that the case fatality rate has decline to 1.17 per cent from 1st January to 21 April and there are 5 states in the country which have more than 1 lakh cases which includes Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka Chhattisgarh and Kerala.
