Over 10 patients die due to alleged oxygen shortage in Maharashtra, kin protest

Over 10 patients died in two hospitals in Maharashtra allegedly due to oxygen shortage.

Angry relatives stormed the hospitals at Nalla Sopara in Palgarh district on Monday night.

Hospital authorities, however, insisted that there was no shortage of oxygen.

Police reached the spot and took cognisance of the matter following ruckus.

Deaths were reported hours after an audio message of Vasai Mayor Rajiv Patil went viral.

Message purportedly highlighted a severe shortage of oxygen needed for patients.

Patil later confirmed authenticity of the message, appealed state govt to solve the matter.
