Tika Utsav begins in India; people reach inoculation centres to get Covid jab

Four-day Covid-19 vaccine festival ‘Tika Utsav’ began in the country on April 11.

It’s being observed with an aim to inoculate maximum number of eligible people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made the call for vaccine festival during his meeting with Chief Ministers.

People arrived at inoculation centres in Delhi to receive the Covid vaccine jab.

Jai Prakash, Mayor of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, said, "Today Tika Mahotsav started in the country.

It will be observed from April 11, the birth anniversary of Jyotiba Phule to April 14, the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar.

We thank all doctors and health staff for being part of this mass vaccination drive." People also arrived at BKC vaccination centre in Mumbai amid weekend lockdown.
