Warrick County Restaurants are Preparing for Mask Advisory

Restaurants in Warrick County are getting ready for that mask mandate to be lifted and are actively trying to determine the next best step.

And while covid cases in the tri- state are appearing to rise ... governor holcomb is still lifting the state-wide mask mandate on april 6th.

44news reporter claire dugan is live in warrick county with how local businesses are preparing.

With hoosiers ages 16 and up eligible for their covid-19 vaccine -- governor holcomb is leaving face covering mandates up to local indiana governments.

For evansville ... mayor winnecke is only requiring masks in certain settings -- like city-owned buildings.

But over in warrick county, business owners like danny bradley at archie and clyde's ... are still waiting for guidance.

"we're just going to have to play it by ear and see if they do lift the mask mandate completely or if theres other guidelines put out."

"the vaccines are supposed to help stop the spread of it and hopefully eliminate it.

But, whether or not it would be necessary to wait until everyone is vaccinated... that's gonna be a while."

For now ... archie and clyde's plans on continuing to limit the capacity, keeping tables six feet apart, and using laminated menus.

As for masks ... bradley says they will have to just wait and see what customers and employees are most comfortable with.

And other warrick county restaurants, like tin fish in newburgh, say they plan to do the same ... that is -- as along as cases stay down and warrick county continues getting vaccinated.

Live in newburgh, claire dugan.
