This wonderful organization is called doors open jazz were a 501(c) three is a proud mission to empower and in two also inspire our children of underserved communities.

The power of music listen because when a child at a young age.

There is a music left learns a musical instrument.

It boosts their math skills.

It boosts their memory skills and her language skills so that basically creates better opportunities, so that means better grades that are college opportunities and better jobs and income back home and give to their communities.

Celeste listen to take away and the reason why we do what we do want what you know in your heart that this is something i needed to take place right here in chattanooga.

Well i'm also a teaching artist with the tennessee arts commission and by doing all the interactive performances that i've done with the kids and all of a lot of the public schools i've seen i've seen like pokimon and studies show that when kids are engaged they there the more apt to learning more as opposed to when they're not happy of.

There is studies also show that ... you know when when a senior citizen learns a musical instrument.

It helps them stave off the onset of dementia.

So we also have a senior outreach program where we teach sinners senior citizens piano lessons at the avondale center so that's but i just there cutting so much funding in the city as far as a man arts and music.

That's the first thing that gets cut and so you know when we see our grades go down in i'm not.

I don't feel good about that and believe in it was this mission has been put in my heart, my god to fulfill and to help out our community.

An amazing thing that you're doing right here in the community age groups are you targeting here in chattanooga and he talked about the seniors and children, and folks are interested.

How can i get involved will that age group now of course these music lessons or for for kids of from my basically six through 19 start to when i was 19 and out.

I was in college.

So of but anyway yeah ... you know it's it's basically for that age group ... but if there are some adults that one take music lessons.

We have we are also have private lessons and classes available for them to join in of so it is basically all it if they want to enroll.
