We did plant on private property owners with the intention and agreement that they would plan to share those products with their neighbors in the future."

Leader janeva soenson says the project is founded by north valley community foundation... but dave wilson nursery and fowler nursery donated all the trees planted this weekend.

Wanye hill is an advisor for the project and lost his home in the north complex fire.

Wayne hill "what survived was our orchard and our fruit trees so it was a real connection."

Hill said he has wanted to help with the idea for years.

Hill: "this project was really a vision i had two years ago, so it makes me really happy it has come true."

Amy: "leaders say that they are hoping to continue planting trees in the spring over the next few years.
