With new plans to reach*more people of color.

While the vanderburgh county health department has seen a great response from eligible hoosiers -- they are finding -- a huge gap*when it comes to people of color having access to the vaccine.

The vanderburgh county health department is working with local leaders --- to open a dialogue on the issue.

Including black nurses of evansville -- as well as n-c- double-a president -- reverend gerland arnold* who has been hosting facebook town halls - during the pandemic.

They are working to find new locations within the city -- to host easily accessible vaccine clinics.

Access along with -- transportation to and from -- and even a lack of information -- are some of the biggest challenges to overcome.

"we want to expand that -- we want to make sure we have access to that -- we want to be a resource for them -- so working with their leadership -- we feel like we can continue to increase those numbers to make sure everyone is protected and revives some equal access."

The plan is to start opening these clinics targeting minorities as early as april this saturday -- a one day covid-19 vaccination clinic will take place at the memorial baptist church fro 9 to 3 reporting live in evansville marisa patwa 44news
