Safety project to add center turn lanes on State Route 145 in Lee County

The state is scheduled to add center turn lanes to a section of State Route 145 in Lee County this fall.

To improve one part of highway 145 in lee county.

The project will stretch from the natchez trace to saltillo.

The first phase: to add center turn lanes at birmingham ridge road.

About 11,000 vehicles daily use the highway in this section.

Traffic entering the highway or slowing to turn off the highway has led to a high percentage of rear-end crashes.
