Better Late than Never: Brimah back with Ants after long layoff

Amida Brimah is back with the Mad Ants and is providing a punch for the team when they desperately need it.

And speaking of guys that are delivering...amida brimah has been doing just that for the mad ants as of late...a late arrival to the g league bubble in orlando... brimah is making his presence felt after an extended time off... nat: "mooney... the move, the give... johnson... brimah shut him down!!

He's controlled the paint all night long, and we've got a timeout called by fort wayne."narrator: for the first time in over a year's time..

Amida brimah is back on a basketball court doing what he loves.nat: "working against brimah... pivoting... and amida, the block."narrator: sidelined by a torn acl in november 2019, brimah sat out the entirety of the 2019-20 g league season...brimah: "it was just interesting to see to be out of the basketball loop, and sitting out, and watching from the outside, and knowing that we didn't have a great year last year, and just knowing that you could have helped so much on this team."

Narrator: which made the start of this year even harder..

Brimah was a late arrival to the g league bubble and missed fort wayne's first five games due to visa issues...brimah: "it was just a process.

But, it made me appreciate my job more, and just having fun with what i do more."narrator: but..

Better late than never right?

Since his arrival..

The mad ants have won two of three games..

And the seven footer from ghana has been a force..

Averaging 10 points, 8 boards and 4 blocks per game..brimah: "my goal is to show i have matured as a player, more technical on offense, i know my role, and i'm gonna play it to the best of my potential, and keep being consistent."

Narrator: brimah hopes his play will be enough to earn him a call up with an nba team..

But for now..

With seven games to go..

He's hoping to help the ants make a playoff push...brimah: "i think we have the team to do it, and i think us making the playoffs is gonna give the fans in fort wayne a lot of excitement, and happy to see one of the teams in indiana doing good, too."

As of now the ants are a game and a half back of a playoff berth...they'll gave the erie bayhawks tomorrow at 7
