Pipe bursts in Starkville after frozen rain falls on city
Happening right now, utility workers are working on a major road in starkville today after a pipe busted because of freezing temperatures.
Wtva's rhea thornton was in oktibbeha county where she spoke with the utility company's general manager about the damage of the water pipe.

But general manager terry kemp said they are almost done with the work.

The 10 inch pipe split nearly two feet.
Because of the location of the pipe, general manager of starkville utilities terry kemp knew his team had to act fast.

Workers jumped into action and cut off of the valves.
That prevented any customers from losing water.

The gravel froze while the workers tried filling the holes later at night.
That forced the utility workers to wait until today to fill the holes.

It's just a matter of now getting the road back open and so we can move on."
