Lee county district one supervisor phil morgan said roads and bridges in lee county are bad right now.
Standup.."this is a lee county satellite facility.
Right now, the machines, are idle as you can see.
But there is a good reason for that according to phil morgan."
"the problem we have in the county is that we just do not have snow equipment .
We don't have blades to blade it off or snowplows or anyting to really remove it."
Morgan said that the county can remove the snow but ice is a another probem.
"a motor grader with a blade will just clip the top off and what's left is like a frozen lake its just really terrible."
In saltillo, the dollar general store hired someone to clean off the parking lot.
Said he is willing to give the county a pass on clearing the roads right now.
"i think it will be a while before they can get outy here.
As long as everybody stays in and don'to playing on the roads , they'll be safe."
Morgan says that his advice right now is don't travel if you don't have to.
He also said that these types of weather events are so rare in north mississippi the county simply cannot afford to invest in heavy-duty snowplows and equipment.
